Are you still fertile 5 days before ovulation if you don't have good cervical mucus? - lot of mucus before period

You say that you are fertile for 5 days before ovulation ..
I took evening primrose oil to improve the quality and quantity of my cervical mucus to .. not that I did not before, I think it could be better or more CM.
Anyway, I was wondering if you still fertile 5 days before ovulation if you do not have much cervical mucus.
